Please be mindful that dogs are not allowed on campus.  The interior sidewalks along the office and multi are part of our campus.  We have a number of students who are afraid of dogs.  Thank you for supporting all students to have a calm and safe arrival and dismissal each school day.

Testing

State Test is Coming Up

Next week, we start state testing for 3rd and 6th-grade students. The week after, it's the 4th and 5th grades' turn. For each grade, there are two English Language Arts tests and two math tests. One covers basic skills and standards for the grade level, and one is a performance task where students are asked to apply their knowledge to a complex set of tasks or scenarios. Our 5th graders have one additional test in the area of science.

Meadow students give 100% effort to their school work and assessments; this state testing is no different. Teachers will communicate exact testing windows. Please be sure to send your student on time, well-rested and fed.

New Crosswalks and Improvements at Meadow

Thanks to Safe Routes to School and the City of Petaluma, we have a new crosswalk at the front of the school and crosswalk improvements at the Colombard crosswalk. We encourage students traveling solo to continue to use the crosswalk where Mrs. Fanelli does crossing duty. If an adult is present, using the new crosswalk makes sense. There is no stop sign, and this is new for the neighborhood, so please look both ways and ensure cars see you before crossing.

At Colombard, the crosswalk is now protected from parking on both sides, which helps with visibility. Thank you for driving slowly and carefully as our students make their way to and from school in the neighborhood.
