Message from Mrs. Haugen

At least once a year, I reach out about electronics monitoring by parents.  I encourage families to actively monitor their students’ cell phone use and digital communication. It’s easy for students to feel “braver” behind a screen and say things they might not say face-to-face. When parents stay involved, we can help guide students toward kind, respectful, and responsible communication. Monitoring phone use allows families to coach children in making positive choices online and reinforces the expectations you hold as a family.
I see it very similar to watching our young ones at the park or practicing riding bikes safely around the neighborhood.  In many instances, we are the training wheels for new experiences.  We build confident and positive habits as we slowly remove the training wheels as our kids age.
PJ Bingo is January 29th from 5:30-7pm
PTO is excited to host family PJ Bingo!  Doors will open at 5:15pm.  Wear your pajamas and join us for a family night of fun!  We will have FREE bingo, milk and cookies.  Pizza, salad adn beverages will be available for purchase.  Children must remain under parental supervision at all times.
RSVP here to attend (for food planning purposes)
RSVP here to volunteer.

Youthtruth Family Survey--Please take a few minutes!

This is the final week to add your input to our YouthTruth Survey for 2026.  We are at 45% of families included as of Monday morning.  Please take a moment to add your feedback. The link is ytsurvey.org/waughfamily26
We would love to get closer to 75% participation this year.

Wacky Winter Safe Routes Challenge

Attached here and sent home in the Wednesday folder before break is the Safe Routes Wacky Winter Scavenger Hunt Challenge. The completed challenges are entered in a raffle to win a knit hat; they are adorable!  You can mail it in or bring it to the Meadow Office by WEDNESDAY.  This is a great activity to do as a family to get outside and explore after all the rain we've had!
