Message from Mrs. Haugen

Throughout the school year, I'll be throwing out reminders from our school handbook. Today is a two-fer since it's valuable information for you and a plug for our amazing PTO. Birthday party and other invitations may not be sent out at school, even if the whole class is being invited. The PTO Directory is the best place to find contact info for your student's classmates for invites, playdates, and other social connections. When you join PTO (there is a zero cost membership), you can participate in the directory. Perfect!

And while we're talking about our Waughsome PTO, let's celebrate the half way mark to our Fun Run Goal!!! All students will enjoy a celebratory popsicle on Friday!

Crossing Safely on the Way to School

Mrs. Haugen got to be a crossing guard last week, and it brought to mind a few reminders.

We have two crossing guards on duty before and after school--one at Maria Drive and Dupree Way and another at Sonoma Mountain Parkway and Colombard Rd. Our new crosswalk at Yarberry Drive should only be used by students walking with an adult. Without an adult, it's better to walk down to the crossing guard. Then on Colombard Rd. at the bike racks, many students cross the street to enter campus. Drive slowly and carefully in this residential area and be alert to students walking and biking to campus. Thank you for helping keep everyone safe on their way to and from school each day.

A Peek at the Week: Sweeping the bark, fun with globes and geography and STEAM Lab time!

Movie Night is coming on Friday, September 19th at 6:15pm. We'll be hosting Movie Night at Corona Creek in the quad. The Movie starts at 7pm. Bring your own food, blankets, chairs, etc., and concessions will be available to purchase

Prepping for Fun Run

The schedule for Fun Run is attached to this Parentsquare message. All volunteers will sign in near the office and get a wristband to acknowledge that you've signed in and belong on campus. If you just want to be a spectator, we'd love that too--please sign in when you arrive. Little siblings, if they come along, should be in a stroller or holding an adult's hand--not running or playing on equipment.

Mark the calendar! We hope you can join us! And keep those pledges coming. This is our biggest fundraiser to support music, art, library, tech, PE, classroom supplies, assemblies and more!! Thank you for helping make it a success!
