Message from Mrs. Haugen

We feel back in the swing of things around campus! Wednesday folders will go home this week if you haven't already seen one.  Homework is starting up, and the lost & found is growing.   Feels like school!
Building good habits early in the year is important.  Consider a time and space for homework and reading practice.  Maybe setting out clothes the night before could help your morning.  Involving your student in planning snack and lunch is a good idea as well.  I hear many of you at drop with encouraging words like, "Make good choices," "We love you," and "Have a fun day; learn lots!" You are setting your student up for success, and we get to carry that work through the day.
And as I shared at Back to School Night, I've had my share of parenting wins and losses through elementary school.  We're in this together!  Give yourself some parenting-grace when needed.

PTO Corner

Our first Dine & Donate is Tuesday, August 26th at Beyond the Glory.  PTO holds one Dine & Donate per month.  It's a way to gather with other school families, enjoy a meal out and raise funds for the Waugh School District.  Beyond the Glory will honor this fundraiser from 11am-9pm on Tuesday.  Just mention Meadow School or Waugh.

Aeries Data Confirmation is Almost Done!

Great job, families!  We'll reach out to individuals who remain on our list.  Our goal is 100% by Friday.  Thanks so much for taking care of this valuable step at the start of school.

STEAM, Art, Music and Library!

This is a big week on campus!  Many of our specials begin: STEAM with Mr. Lindeman, art with Mr. Kellgren (pictured here on his way to a classroom), music with Miss Shari and library with Miss Jen.  You may have learned at Back to School Night when each of these happens through the week for your student.  Be sure to ask about introductions and activities that happened through the week!  Waugh PTO and the district partner to bring these programs to all students.  We are so fortunate to have a generous and motivated parent community!
