We appreciate your patience as we took a break from one-day independent study to streamline our process.

Voluntary One-Day Independent Study allows students to complete work toward learning goals when a short absence occurs (illness, emergency, etc.). Request this program on the day of the absence using the form on our website, which alerts your school’s front office. Then grab an assignment option for your student’s grade level on the website (we have copies in the office as well). Complete the work and return it within 5 days of returning to school. We will send home the contract for you to sign and return as well. Questions? Contact your school’s office.

By choosing a one-day independent study, your student earns attendance credit for the day, engages in meaningful learning and school earns ADA, valuable school funding.

This does not replace traditional independent study while is for more than three days and needs two week's notice for us to prepare. That process continues as usual.

A student may not accumulate more than 15 days of independent study in one school year.

It's Pumpkin Patch season! Looking for a fun fall outing with the kids and an easy way to support our PTO? Join us at Mickelson Pumpkin Patch for a cozy evening filled with pumpkins, activities, and community spirit!! October 13th from 4-8pm. 15% of wristband and attraction sales go back to Waugh PTO. Halloween at School is Friday, October 30th. Students can wear their costumes to school. Be sure they are able to do school in their costume--recess, pe, bathroom, lunch, etc. Please keep costumes fun and friendly; save the scary items for the evening of Halloween. TK/K will parade around the quad starting at 1:15pm. Parents and families are welcome to come watch. Stand inside the quad or along the edges. 1st-6th will parade at 2pm. The path will get bigger and extend from the quad around in from of rooms 21, 22 and 23.
