Please be mindful that dogs are not allowed on campus.  The interior sidewalks along the office and multi are part of our campus.  We have a number of students who are afraid of dogs.  Thank you for supporting all students to have a calm and safe arrival and dismissal each school day.

February is Black History Month
February is Black History Month, and we are honoring the achievements, resilience, and contributions of African Americans throughout history with engaging activities across our campus. Each grade level is participating in meaningful projects designed to foster awareness, appreciation, and discussion about the impact of Black leaders, activists, artists, and trailblazers.
Our fourth graders are diving into research by preparing brief biographies of influential African Americans, each paired with an artistic representation of their subject. These projects will be displayed in their classrooms.
Fifth-grade students are exploring history through a daily video biography, highlighting a different African American figure each day. These videos provide insight into the lives and legacies of individuals who have shaped our nation through their courage, creativity, and perseverance.
In sixth grade, students are reading Freedom Walkers and delving into the Montgomery Bus Boycott, a pivotal moment in the Civil Rights Movement. Through discussions and activities, they will analyze the bravery and dedication of individuals who stood up for justice through peaceful protest.
Our primary grades are introduced to Black history through the inspiring stories of figures such as Rosa Parks, Ruby Bridges, Jackie Robinson, and Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Through read-aloud, discussions, and creative activities, students will learn about the impact of these remarkable individuals and the importance of standing up for what is right.
This month is an opportunity for our school community to reflect on the past, celebrate progress, and recognize the ongoing contributions of Black Americans in all areas of life. We are excited to engage students in these meaningful lessons that inspire learning, empathy, and action.
